Project Overview

Through genome analysis of human bones excavated from the Takuta-Nishibun site in northern Kyushu, I aim to clarify the genetic relationships of their burials (kin relationship among each individuals) and reconstruct the social structure of the Takuta-Nishibun population of Yayoi period, namely to clarify the social structure (kinship relationship among each burials) within each burial group (burial pit and jar coffin groups). In addition, I would like to explore the relationship between social stratification and kinship by comparing among different burial groups.
